Hello There!

Welcome to my world! My name is Ashumi Shah and I am a researcher, writer, book-lover, coffee-drinker, and amateur baker. Oh and I do love an Oxford comma!

At the moment you can find me haunting the streets of the beautiful city of Augsburg in Germany, where I work at the University of Augsburg as a research associate and PhD student. Virtually, you can find me lurking on Instagram, where I evoke all kinds of jealousies with the food I cook and the books I read, or on Twitter where I say things, retweet things and mostly reveal my age via my Twitter handle. I also sometimes highlight and strike and underline things as an editor at the Ancillary Review of Books

My research takes me down many rabbit holes, but my absolutely favourite ones are: Participatory Culture and Fandom, Collaborative Culture, New Media, Transmedia, Speculative Fiction, Storytelling in Games, Celebrity Studies, British Literature and Poetry, Indian Popular Culture, Literary Events, Neil Gaiman, and Doctor Who

My current research project focuses on collaborative practices and relationships between media producers, media consumers and media delivery channels, specifically focusing on speculative fiction television shows

I have also written about books, comics, and Black Mirror. Somewhere, a top-secret folder contains all my copywriting / copy-editing stuff. Oh and as a teen, I wrote a Wattpad novel that I am only mildly embarrassed about.
